Gage, Ralph, and Skip met Sunday morning May 2 at Fred Meyer in Puyallup to make a run out to Tahuya to find a camp ground for the first outing of the season. It was a great day for a bike ride. We invited all to attend, you could have gone topless but I guess the rest were afraid of the sun. It was nice all the way out and back.
We stopped in Belfair to gas up. Some "strange" guy with a foot long beard and glazed over eyes came up and asked if my Valkyrie was still the fastest production bike made. Tried to convince him Ralph's rocket was faster. I don't think we convinced him. Don't know what he was on but I think it's been a thirty year trip. We got out of there and headed up to find the camp ground. No problem there. I think the people there thought we were a lot strange especially when Gage throttled his straight pipes.
We left the camp ground and continued on down the road. We found a nice little windy windy. Ralph couldn't restrain himself any longer. Every once in a while he would take a 5 or 10 minute break and wait for Gage and I to catch up.
Once we got back to Hwy 3 Ralph wanted to see what it was like to ride the lounge chair. We switched bikes for a bit. Gage couldn't decide what was funnier, Ralph on laid back my mega cruiser or me folded up on his crotch rocket. It was fun swapping bikes. We both agreed we'd need several days and several miles before either of us could ride the other guys bike with confidence.
Of course Gage with his Beany cap helmet and Harley jacket wouldn't even try Ralph's bike. That would have been a good one.
On the way back we stopped at a cycle shop in Tacoma. Gage had to head on over to the hospital. One of the boys was sick and Jen took him in. Hope all is well. Ralph and I headed over to the Taco shop on 38th Street. Gage was afraid to eat in a Mexican place with the Swine err H1N1 flu. Ralph and I figured what the heck, we'll burn it out with hot sauce. It was a good lunch and we were back on the road heading home.
Look on the calendar for directions on how to get there. We'll see you there on the 15th or 16th

Nice Day
It was a really nice day with us as well. We woke up in the rent-a-van from J&R's @ Reiter parking lots and made breakfast then people started showing up and we talked and got ready to go.
Then it started, The spring clean-up sponcered by PNW4WDA, NW Bike and quad association, Everett Power sports and many others. about 125 people on dirt bikes, quads and off-roaders headed out to clean-up.
Biggest thig was a 1980 mazda courier pick-up.
Sorry we were not there but we had a good day as well.
