Trail Jam 2007

Cara and I arrived Wednesday evening around 5:15 PM with Michelle following in her jeep. We set up camp, registered, got the jeep teched, and sign up for Manastash Ridge being hosted by Roberts Motors. Gage and Clay also signed up for Manastash Ridge too.

Thursday on the Manastash Ridge trailThursday on the Manastash Ridge trailThursday we had a blast on the "Ridge" including going up Funny Rocks and across Moon Rocks. The Roberts group hosted lunch on the trail too. While not a hard trail it had great views when not blocked by the dust.

We got back in time to clean up and get Cara and Clay into the Jr. Ranger class. After the kids got finished it was time for dinner being hosted by Roberts Motors. That evening Gage and I signed up for Kaner/Quartz hosted by Roberts Motors.

Cat-NapCat-NapFriday morning we hit the trail and got the dust and a short system passing over in the AM giving us some rain. Along with the rain we had thunder and lightning.

We made great time in the first part of the trail that we stopped for about an hour. We found out there had been a couple lightning strikes durring the storm with at least one fire being reported.

Again Tim with Roberts Motors cooked dogs on the grill. After lunch we ran the rest of the trail and made it back to camp early.

Friday at Trail JamFriday at Trail JamOnce back to camp Clay joined Cara and I for the run to the showers. Gage had to take the Kodiac (truck) and go get Ralph, who lost his pinion on the Shoestring/Kaner (the trail the club was hosting). Clay Cara and I got back from showering at Squaw Rock campground and headed for dinner hosted by ARB.

That night at the White Knuckle camp Gage and I were going to run with the club Saturday since we wanted to run with the knucleheads once, and we were down a host.

Saturday since Ralph wasn't running Michelle rode with Cara, Clay, and I. We had Clay since Gage had Jen and thier other 2 little guys.

Again no major problems and a hot dusty day. We did the stop at Government Medow for lunch. Dinner that night was by Warn and after dinner Dave M. and Kathy along with Skip headed for home.

Sunday morning we had the pancake feed and then took down camp. We headed home with Michelle following again.

Great write-up ...

Thanks Chris, great write-up.

The White Knuckles should consider serving lunch to our guests on the trail (or maybe margaritas back at camp). Doing so would guarantee us that trail in the lottery each year. Anyone else interested?
